Yes please. RPS? Dude there are sparkly boys touching each other in CANON, it takes a stronger woman than I not to go there with it. Recently I got persuaded into bandslash, where the boys are, for the most part, not quite so sparkly, but the touching is there and they have Patrick Stump. I'm only human. Because I keep my fic public and various bandom members seem to stumble over slash with somewhat alarming frequency, here's a quick explanation on Why Real People Slash Is Written. In my view, it's a form of affection. "You. We like you. Here, have some fictional sex with a hot guy." Plus hi, fantasy. It's not written with the real people in mind as an audience. If you are someone I write about and you refuse to hit the back button, quite frankly the scarring is your own fault. (However if a fan ever HANDS YOU SLASH, the scarring is *their* fault and feel free to tell them so. *headdesk*) I am a writer and an office worker. Guess which one pays the rent? I have an English degree and am only a fan of bad spelling when it is satirical. I'm hard of hearing. I'm a "Lefty Catholic" as Dar Williams once put it. I'm a Fruhead. All these things will come up at some point or other. If your spelling is atrocious, you hate the Backstreet Boys, Moxy Fruvous, Fall Out Boy or gay people, or if you are the type of pro-choicer that likes to get in people's faces about it... you're not on my friends list.
